ASANTEHENE RECEIVES ' KANTANKA OTUMFUO' SUV

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, has praised highly the innovation and ingenuity of Ghanaian entrepreneur, Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo who has pioneered the manufacture of automobile in Ghana and in the West Africa sub-region. 

Otumfuo Osei Tutu advocated that Ghanaians, both as individuals or corporate bodies, should consider patronizing the locally made vehicles to generate more job opportunities for the teeming unemployed people. 

The Asantehene made the appeal at the Manhyia Palace when he received a new four wheel drive manufactured by the Kantanka Automobile Company. 

The customized four wheel drive, christened ‘Kantanka Otumfuo’, is one of three vehicles ordered by the Asantehene from the Kantanka Automobile company, a wholly Ghanaian vehicle manufacturing company. 

The vehicle, with an engine capacity of eight with the interior designed with the popular kente woven in the Asanteman official colours of black, gold and green embossed with the official seal of the Asantehene on the seats.

 The vehicle is to augment the fleet of official vehicles for use by the Asante overlord. 

After inspecting the vehicle, which has a market value of 150 thousand Ghana Cedis, Otumfuo Osei Tutu described the Kantanka Otumfuo as comparable to any of the SUVs imported for use in the country and therefore urged Ghanaians to patronize the Kantanka range of vehicles to promote made in Ghana goods.

 In an interview, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kantanka Automobile Company, Kwadwo Sarfo Kantanka Okofena, gave the assurance that the company has the capacity to rectify any defect on any of its products should any be detected.

The once Industrial enclave of the Ashanti region within the Kumasi metropolis is fast losing its status as the nerve centre of jobs for the people.     This is due to the collapse of most of the companies in quick succession in  the last few years for various reasons. New Campus of the Kwamang Presby SHS The Kwamang Presby Senior High/Technical School in the Sekyere Central district of Ashanti needs an urgent external intervention to address some of its pressing basic needs to function very well.  A visit by Ashanti Today to the school’s premises revealed that the school does not have an administrative block to administer affairs of the school for which reason the Headmistress, the Bursar and another staff are sharing one room which has been partitioned, while the Assistant Headmaster, the rest of the Accounts staff among other administrative officers are also working from an improvised classroom.
