SOME PEOPLE STILL UNDER BONDAGE DESPITE CHRIST'S ATONEMENT-METHODIST MINISTER

The Atonsu Agogo Circuit Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church, Very Reverend Frederick Mensah has observed that even though God has sacrificed Jesus Christ to redeem man from the bondage of Satan, some people are still under the control of the evil one through devious schemes.  According to Very Rev. BE FAIR, NEUTRAL BUT RESOLUTE-KOFI BOAKYE URGES POLICE PERSONNEL

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCoP Nathan Kofi Boakye has asked personnel under his jurisdiction to be fair, neutral and honest with all politicians and political parties, especially this year in the discharge of their duties.  This, according to the Police Commander, is one sure way of engendering the trust and confidence of all in the security agency.  DCoP Kofi Boakye gave the advice at Nkawie during the West Africa Security Social Activities, WASSA, of the Nkawie Divisional Command.  The Regional Police Commander emphasized the fact that this year being an election year, it is important for police personnel to remain a-political in dealing with all political parties, groups and individuals so as to win their cooperation and trust.  DCoP Kofi Boakye advised them however, to continue to be firm and professional in performing their duties without being complacent.  He commended the Nkawie Divisional for working hard to reduce the rate of crime in the

LAND LORDS MUST GET PRE-FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT BEFORE CONSTRUCTION-GNFS

Property owners have been reminded that it is illegal for them to construct their respective buildings and structures without a pre-fire risk assessment by the Ghana National Fire Service.  The Obuasi Municipal Fire Commander, Divisional Officer Three Ben Carlis-Paitoo, who gave the reminder, explained that the Fire Precaution Premises Regulation 2003 mandates the Fire Service to undertake a pre-fire risk assessment of buildings and structures and design, in quantitative terms a fire engineering drawing, which stipulates the type, number, location and installation of firefighting equipment.  He was addressing journalists at a press soirĂ©e at Obuasi. CHIEF FIRE OFFICER STARTS ASHANTI TOUR

The Chief Fire Officer, Dr. Albert Brown Gaisie has given the Ashanti Regional Fire Officer, Semekor Fiadzo three months ultimatum to devise strategies to reduce fire outbreaks in the region.  According to Dr. Brown Gaisie, Ashanti region seems to have recorded more fire outbreaks than Accra in recent times and has described the situation as a serious concern.  He made this known during a courtesy call on the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Kojo Bonsu in Kumasi.  The courtesy call was at the start of a four day official tour of the Ashanti Region. DPT OF COOPERATIVES TO GET TOUGH WITH CREDIT UNIONS

The Department of Cooperatives will clamp down on any Cooperative Credit Union or enterprise purporting to be a registered Cooperative entity without legal authorization by the Department.  According to the Department of Cooperatives, some legalized Cooperative Credit Unions are opening new branches outside of their registered original operational area without following the laid down procedure while some entities are purporting to be Cooperative Credit organizations without going through the laid down regulations.  The Ashanti Regional Director of Cooperatives, Charles Kwaku Boateng gave the warning during a media interaction in Kumasi. ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE POOR IN RURAL AREAS, NORTHERN GHANA-MINISTER OF HEALTH
