NDC LOSES PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE

The NDC’s Parliamentary candidate for Shai Osudoku in the Greater Accra region, William Desmond Ocloo, has been killed in a road accident which occurred at the outskirt of Atwedie near Juaso in the Asante Akyem South district of Ashanti.

 Another person, who has been identified only as Kwame who was driving a Hyundai mini cargo truck belonging to a private company, New Found Ventures, also died in the accident which occurred at about 8pm last night, Thursday March 3.

 The Konongo Police Divisional Commander, Superintendent Ohene Boadi-Bossman, who confirmed the incident to Ashanti Today, said the two bodies have been deposited at the mortuary of a nearby private hospital. 

According to Superintendent Boadi-Bossman, the 42-year old politician’s GMC four-by-four vehicle which was moving from the Accra direction of the road crashed head-on with the mini truck which was traveling from Kumasi towards Accra. 

The two drivers died on the spot. 

The District Chief Executive for Sekyere Afram Plains in the Ashanti region, Fuseini Donkor also told Ashanti Today that Mr. Ocloo, who is a contractor and a personal friend, was traveling to inspect a market project in the region he is executing when he met his untimely death.

THE STATE OF KUMASI'S 'INDUSTRIAL AREA

The once Industrial enclave of the Ashanti region within the Kumasi metropolis is fast losing its status as the nerve centre of jobs for the people.     This is due to the collapse of most of the companies in quick succession in  the last few years for various reasons. KWAMANG SHS NEEDS URGENT HELP

New Campus of the Kwamang Presby SHS The Kwamang Presby Senior High/Technical School in the Sekyere Central district of Ashanti needs an urgent external intervention to address some of its pressing basic needs to function very well.  A visit by Ashanti Today to the school’s premises revealed that the school does not have an administrative block to administer affairs of the school for which reason the Headmistress, the Bursar and another staff are sharing one room which has been partitioned, while the Assistant Headmaster, the rest of the Accounts staff among other administrative officers are also working from an improvised classroom.
