A-G CALLS FOR 'DF8' DOCKET

The Attorney General has requested for the docket of the case involving the eight persons who allegedly invaded a Circuit Court in Kumasi to free 13 members of vigilante group, Delta Force, for further study and advice.

The Court trying the case therefore has adjourned the case to the 17th of next month by which time, it is expected that the Attorney General would have given her advice on the direction of the case.

The Prosecutor, ACP Okyere Darko made this known to the Court presided over by Madam Patricia Amponsah when the case was called for hearing this morning, Tue. April 18, in Kumasi.

All the eight accused persons appeared in Circuit today.

However, they will be reporting to the Court upon the previous bail conditions ordered by the Court at the last date of hearing.

Later in an interview with the media, a member of the Deffence Legal team, Garry Nimako, indicated that he thought the court was going to commence full trial of the case but said the Deffence team is ready for the trial anytime the Attorney General’s advice is ready.

The High Court Complex premises at Adum the matter is being tried was heavily fortified with police presence this morning.

It will be recalled that on the 6th of this month 2016, 13 members of the vigilante group, Delta Force, who were being tried at the KMA Circuit Court in Kumasi in connection with an attack on the Ashanti Regional Security Liaison Officer, George Adjei at his office, were allegedly aided to escape lawful custody after a commotion allegedly facilitated by eight men also linked to the vigilante group.

Meanwhile, the 13 members will appear before Court on 20th April, 2016.
