 Founding Father of the ruling National Democratic Congress, J.J.Rawlings has urged his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to consider a return to the NDC.




Making the call at the 2014 National Delegates Congress of the NDC in Kumasi, Mr. Rawlings indicated that the party he founded is now changing for the better and that the reasons for which reason Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings should return.



The former First Lady of Ghana broke away from her husband/s party in the run up to the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana.


She then formed a new political party, the National Democratic Party, NDP on whose ticket she was to run for the national presidential election.

However, her presidential ambition was cut-short when the Electoral Commission rejected her nomination forms on the the 11th hour for failure to complete the forms.

Nana Konadu/s breaking away from the NDC was seen as a face-saving tactic as she was humiliated at the Sunyani Congress in 2012 when she defied all odds to contest the then sitting President of the party, the late Professor J.E.A.Mills for the presidential candidature of the party.


Since then, she has assumed an antagonistic posture against the NDC and at certain instances, showed support and solidarity with the fiercest rival political party of the NDC, the New Patriotic Party and its 2012 presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.

THE STATE OF KUMASI'S 'INDUSTRIAL AREA

The once Industrial enclave of the Ashanti region within the Kumasi metropolis is fast losing its status as the nerve centre of jobs for the people.     This is due to the collapse of most of the companies in quick succession in  the last few years for various reasons. Background Industrialization was a key component of the first wholly indigenous government of Ghana led by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. KWAMANG SHS NEEDS URGENT HELP

New Campus of the Kwamang Presby SHS The Kwamang Presby Senior High/Technical School in the Sekyere Central district of Ashanti needs an urgent external intervention to address some of its pressing basic needs to function very well.  A visit by Ashanti Today to the school’s premises revealed that the school does not have an administrative block to administer affairs of the school for which reason the Headmistress, the Bursar and another staff are sharing one room which has been partitioned, while the Assistant Headmaster, the rest of the Accounts staff among other administrative officers are also working from an improvised classroom. Anybody who visits the Kwamang Presby Senior High Technical school for the first time will unavoidably take it for a basic school.  This is more so when it appears to be perching on the premises of the local Junior High School as its old site.  The school is wallowing in a myriad of challenges that are seriously militating against
