GHANA BIBLE COLLEGE NOW ACCREDITED TO RUN CIRCULAR PROGRAMMES
The
Ghana Bible College, a theology school of the Churches of Christ, Ghana, has
now been accredited by the National Accreditation Board as the Kumasi Campus of
the KNUSTFORD University College to run secular academic courses for the award
of first degrees and Diplomas.
Until now, the Ghana Bible College which was
established in the 1960s by Missionaries of the Church as a lasting monument
towards the great Commission of Jesus Christ, offered two year courses leading
to the award of Sacred Ministry and Divinity Certificates to its products.
The
Principal of the College, Emmanuel Antwi made this known at the 33rd
graduation ceremony of the College, in Kumasi. Twenty-six students passed out
with Diploma Certificates in Sacred Ministry and Divinity.
The Principal
announced also that a Campus of the College has been set up in Sunyani in the
Brong Ahafo region to enable interested persons from that region and beyond to
also pursue the courses on offer.
Mr. Antwi disclosed that the Board of the
College has approved that students of the College, including the past ones, be
given Ordination Certificate to enable them to get state recognition to
officiate certain public functions such as marriage and burial.
He said even
though the College has made some progress during the past year, there is still
more to be done, considering the fact that its external donors have withdrawn
their financial assistance.
Mr. Antwi therefore appealed to members of the
Churches of Christ in Ghana to increase their monetary contributions towards
the upkeep of the school.
