OFORIKROM MP FETES KUMASI MEDIA

The NPP has asked the media to be well informed about issues they discuss in order not to misinform the public.

According to the party, it is the responsibility of the media to research and ensure that there is always value for loans contracted by government to develop the country.

The MP for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh who said this at a press soiree organised by the MP for Oforikrom Constituency in Kumasi noted with concern some stories in the media that cannot be substantiated.

He mentioned in particular the Suhum-Nsawam road project which work has been stalled for the past six years.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh said it is the responsibility of the Ministry concerned to point out some shortfalls in governance, draw government attention to the plight of Ghanaian and suggest alternatives.

He said the party is aware of a hidden agenda to cause disaffection between the MPs in the region and their constituents through the publishing or airing unsubstantiated stories that the MPs have done very little to help improve on the standard of  living of the constituents.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh asked his other colleague MPs to relate very well with the media to be provided the opportunity to reach out to the electorate.

A leading member of the NPP, George Ayisi Boateng expressed gratitude to the media is the region for their support and cooperation over the years.

He appealed to the MPs to close their rank as the party prepares to launch a campaign to come to power in 2016.
