ROAD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SERVICES WITHDRAW SERVICES ON THE ROAD

Checks by GBC’s Garden City Radio reveal that the Road Safety Management Services Limited contracted by the National Road Safety Commission to tow faulty and accident vehicles off the country’s major roads, has suspended its services.

Also, the towing vehicles the company uses for its operations have all been sent to its head office in Accra.

Aside towing such vehicles off the roads, the company has been contracted to render other road safety services in collaboration with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service.

According to sources close to the company, services have been halted to allow for a proper evaluation and review of the Memorandum of Understanding that exists between the company and the National Road Safety Commission.

Although the company is currently not rendering the towing services on the highways, it still renders services to other institutions including the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority.

The sources however indicate that rumors that the company has laid off some of its staff is not the case. Rather, some staff on contract have had their contractual terms expired.
