DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF, OTHERS CONTEST IN ASHANTI NDC PRIMARIES

A
total of 106 members of the NDC picked nomination forms to contest in the party’s
upcoming Parliamentary elections.
An average of two members are contesting in
each of the 47 Constituencies in the region. Filing of the nominations closed
yesterday at the all the Constituency offices of the party, while the
Constituency executives have been directed to submit all the nomination forms
of the candidates by midday today.
Speaking to Ashanti Today in Kumasi, the Party’s Regional Administrator, Peter Antwi Boasiako said
20 of the Constituencies were able to submit the nomination forms of their
aspirants immediately after the close of nominations at 5 pm yesterday to the
Regional office.
The party Administrator disclosed that some of the Constituencies
have five persons who have filed with the two contestants being the least
number of contestants in a Constituency.
Mr. Antwi Boasiako expressed
satisfaction with the caliber of people who have put themselves up for the
party’s primaries in November.
They include the Deputy Chief of Staff, Johnny
Osei Kofi who has filed to contest in the Oforikrom Constituency, the Deputy
Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Samuel Yaw Adusei, Bantama,
Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Alexander Ackon,
Obuasi East, Managing Director of the State Housing Company, Dr. Samuel Sarpong
for Nhyiaeso, the Regional Youth Organizer of the party, Ernest Brogya Genfi
for Suame as well as the MCE for Obuasi, Kwasi Ofori Agyemang for the Obuasi
West Constituency.
He said everything possible is being done to ensure peaceful
and successful primaries.
