REGIONAL MINISTER TOURS VOTING CENTRES


The Ashanti Regional Minister, Peter Anarfi-Mensah has described the district level election processes in the Ahafo Ano North district has been peaceful. 

 The Regional Minister also expressed confidence and trust in the capability of the Electoral Commission to effectively and efficiently deal with any challenge that might result from the election processes. 

Mr. Anarfi-Mensah made the observation after touring some of the Voting Centres in the Ahafo Ano North district to see for himself the level of the electorate’s patronage of the exercise and how the processes had were going. 

The Regional Minister visited Centres at Adugyama, Abesewa and Asuhyiae. 

At the Wawase Anglican Primary ‘A’ Centre, out of the 495 total eligible voters on the Register, 117 had voted as at seven minutes past 12 noon, while 119 out of the 569 voters at the Wawase Anglican Primary “B’ Centre.

 At the Tepa Junior High School ‘A’, 130 out of the 765 voters had also voted at the time of the Minister’s visit. By 12.38 pm when the Regional Minister got to the Asuhyiae R/C Primary School, 267 out of the expected 626 qualified voters had gone there to vote. 

The Ahafo Ano North District Director of the Electoral Commission, Madam Diana Owusu said her outfit was satisfied with the comportment of the voters so far while no serious problem had been encountered adding that all the election materials were delivered on time.
