Rev. Dr. Frimpong Manso inducting Rev. Amoakohene
The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Reverend Dr. Frimpong Manso has warned that the Church will not tolerate any of its Ministers whose action or inaction will undermine the family system.

By this, Reverend Ministers of the Church must uphold the sanctity and dignity of their own families, since anything that affects the nucleus family directly or indirectly affects the image of the Church.

Reverend Dr. Frimpong Manso gave the warning in Kumasi during the induction of the first Executive Committee of the newly created Ashanti East Region of the Assemblies of God Church.

The three-member Ashanti East Region of the Church with Reverend Tony Goldwyn Amoakohene as the Superintendent has also, Reverend Ministers Kwame Appiah Kubi as Secretary and John Richard Nkrumah as the Treasurer.

Highlight of the induction service was the inauguration of the first Regional Superintendent Minister, Reverend Tony Amoakohene, a 64-year old has been the Senior Pastor of the Living Waters Congregation of the Church in Kumasi since 2006.

The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, admitted that the Church is also involved in the hydra-headed confusion that has characterized Christendom in the country and scolded the Pastors who also practice some of the bad things the Assemblies of God has been condemning.

Reverend Dr. Frimpong Manso explained that the Church has created more administrative regions to ensure effective church administration. A former General Secretary of the Church, Reverend Charles Appiah Boachie, in a sermon, called for mutual cooperation and support among the leadership and members of the church.

He urged especially members to provide for the welfare of the Superintendent while the leadership must in return, show care and love for the church members.

This will help to propel the church to meet its target of winning three thousand more souls for Christ.

The first Superintendent of the Ashanti East region, Reverend Tony Goldwyn Amoakohene thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him.

Background

At the last General Council meeting of the Assemblies of God Church held in Cape Coast last year, a decision was taken to create more administrative regions of the church to ensure effective management.  Following from the General Council’s decision, the then Ashanti Regional Council met in March this year during which the region was separated into three different administrative  regions name; Ashanti North, Ashanti West and Ashanti East.

The Ashanti East region is the amalgamation of the Akwatialine, Adiebeba, Amakom, Atonsu, Bonwire, Effiduase, Ejisu and Konongo District which altogether have two thousand local congregations with 157 Pastors.

The Living Waters Assembly becomes the Central Church. At the March 2015 Ashanti Regional Council meeting, an election was conducted which produced Reverend Tony Goldwyn Amoakohene as the first ever Regional Superintendent with Reverend Ministers Kwame Appiah-Kubi and Dr. John Richard Nkrumah as the Regional Secretary and Treasure respectively.

They will serve a four-year term renewable only once.
