BETINKO GETS NEW SCHOOL BLOCK


A six unit classroom block, office and a store for the Betinko District Assembly Basic School near Adiembra in the Atwima Mponua District of Ashanti has been inaugurated.


 The building, which took about eight months to complete, was funded from the District Development Fund at a cost of one hundred and 60 thousand Ghana Cedis. 


It replaces an old dilapidated structure which was constructed about 50 years ago. 

The provision of the school block has brought a relief to the primary school pupils leaving the Junior High School pupils yet to be provided with a descent classroom block. 


The District Chief Executive, Stephen Yeboah said his administration is determined to work hard to meet the demands of the people within the constraint of the economy. 


He said the District is a proud beneficiary of government’s Senior High School project which is located at Adobeawura. 


The project has taken off. Mr. Yeboah said the challenges facing the economy and for that matter in the area are numerous and that everything possible shall be done to address them. 


The DCE promised to provide a three classroom block immediately to serve the need of the JHS. 


One hundred and 50 bags of cement and a bundle of iron rocks will soon be sent to the community to start the project. 


The District Director of Education, Charles Asuah Yeboah said the provision of the facility fulfils one of the basic requirements of quality education and therefore challenged parents to send their children to school. 


Teachers and pupils should also do their part and put the facility to good use.

 The teachers should be disciplined, avoid absenteeism and be a living example to the pupils and the community.    

Mr. Asua Yeboah who is only four months in the district advised the people not to use the facility as a place of convenience. 

The chiefs and people of Betinko appealed to the Assembly to construct a short road from the main road to the town. 

They said the plan to construct a University in the town id still on course and appealed to the DCE and the Ghana Education Service for support.
