LATE GBC PRESENTER GOES HOME ON MARCH 7TH



The burial and final funeral rites of the late female broadcaster of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Madam Beatrice Kusi Appiah popularly called Ama Fosuhemaa, has been observed in Kumasi has been fixed for Friday and Saturday    March 6th and 7th respectively on the premises of the Ashanti regional offices the GBC in Kumasi.

Her remains will be laid in state at a private residence at Sobolo near the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and later interred at her home town, Bogyawe near Asante Bekwai before the final funeral rites at GBC’s Garden City Radio in Kumasi.

The family announced these arrangements at the observation of the One Week of her demise at Sobolo.

The One Week observation was well attended by family members, loved ones and staff of the GBC’s, led by its Acting Regional Director, Alex Dadzie-Bonney.

The late Ama Fosuhemaa was the Host of programmes such as ‘Mmofra Kyepen’, a children-focused week-end programme, ‘Kumasi Mo Nso’m’, ‘Ewiase Mu Nsem’ among others. Until her death, Madam Fosuhemaa was in charge of the Corporate Affairs Unit of the GBC in Ashanti.




The late Ama Fosuhemaa contested the Bekwai Constituency in the 2008 Parliamentary elections as an Independent candidate and was able to poll ove 11 thousand votes, placing her second to the then NPP candidate, Kofi Opoku Adusei.

The MP for Subin, Isaac Osei and his counterparts for Bekwai, Joseph Osei-Wusu, have expressed surprised at the death of Ama Fosuhemaa and expressed their sympathy with the bereaved family and staff of the GBC.
