PROGRESSIVE PEOPLE'S PARTY INVITED TO UK
The Progressive People’s Party, PPP has been selected to
participate in a Best Practice Study Session in Pre-Election
Campaign Organization being
hosted by the UK Liberal Democrats from the
13th to 21st
of next month in Liverpool
and London.
The
Liberal Democrats was formed in 1988 by a merger of the Liberal Party and the
Social Democratic Party.
A statement signed by the National Women Coordinator
of the PPP, Berlinda Bulley said the
essence of the Programme is for the PPP representatives to shadow Liberal Democrat campaigners and political leaders in
battleground constituencies and also
attend the party’s pre-election conference in Liverpool where they will participate in a tailor-made training programme on
campaigning.
It said 12 delegates from around the world have been selected to
participate in the week long session.
The statement noted that after
reviewing the profiles of over 300 politicians all over the world, 81 were short-listed,
out of which, Paa Kow Ackon of the PPP scored the highest and was unanimously
selected by the approving board as first choice.
It disclosed that the National
Youth Coordinator of the party, Divine Nkrumah has also been selected after a
similar competitive process to participate in Liberal Democrats Youth South
Africa project.
The statement said the Liberal Democrats have been very
impressive with the talents within the PPP and the consistency in the fight
against corruption, implementation of the Free Compulsory Basic Education and job
creation.
