GBC LOSES FEMALE PRESENTER


The death is reported of Madam Beatrice Kusi Appiah, popularly known as Ama Fosuhemaa, a staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in Kumasi. 

 She was 55. Madam Fosuhemaa was employed by the GBC in December 1998 as a Production Assistant and rose through the ranks to become an Assistant Manager. 

She had since been stationed in the Ashanti region where she had not only been presenting different Programmes on Garden City Radio or GCR, the Ashanti regional FM station of the GBC. 

Among the popular Programmes the late Fosuhemaa presented on GCR are Mmofra Kyepen, Kumasi Mo Nsom’, Bo Me Nkommo, Ewiase Yesum, and was also once an Akan News Caster and a News Reporter. 

She was as well the brain behind the annual end of-year children’s party and donation of gifts by the GBC to widows and inmates of orphanages in the Ashanti region. 

According to family sources, Madam Fosuhemaa died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Monday night night while on admission for healthcare. 

The date and place of her burial and final funeral rites will be announced later.
