IGP ENDS TOUR OF ASHANTI

The Inspector General of Police, Dr. John Kudalor has assured that the Ghana Police Service is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to ensure peaceful general elections.

He said this year’s elections will be keenly contested and its success is contingent on peace. Dr. Kudalor said this at a durbar with personnel under the Ashanti Regional Police Command in Kumasi.

He revealed that the Police Administration has met with representatives of political parties and political party youth groups to deliberate on how to ensure peace before, during and after the General Elections.

Dr. Kudalor said a communiqué issued at the just ended Police Command Conference which was held on the theme, “Safeguarding Our Democracy: A Safe and Secured Environment Before, During and After Election 2016” emphasized the need for all Regional Commands to engage the youth, political leaders, opinion leaders, traditional authorities and the media in ensuring peaceful General Elections and ensuring the welfare of police personnel.

The IGP earlier observed a riot control demonstration exercise by personnel of the service to exhibit their readiness for the upcoming General Elections.
