OTUMFUO CHARITY FOUNDATION SUPPORTS PUPILS




The Otumfuo Charity Foundation has extended its social support services in the areas of education, health and sanitation to Sanso in the Obuasi Municipality of Ashanti. 

It embarked on the initiative in the spirit of contributing to the development of the lives of people in particularly rural communities across the country through the provision of basic social amenities. 

These amenities from which people in the Sanso community have benefited include free distribution of exercise books and pencils to pupils, mobile ICT learning and reading project and a free dental hygiene programme. 

Addressing a durbar of the chiefs and people of Sanso, the wife of the Asantehene, Lady Julia Osei Tutu emphasized the commitment of the Otumfuo Charity Foundation and its subsidiary foundations to continue supporting the less privileged with such services which are hitherto mostly available for people in urban areas. 

  She explained that quality education remains one important lifetime resource the nation should bequeath posterity to ensure sustained social and economic advancement. 

In this regard, Lady Julia called for the support of traditional authorities, corporate organizations and philanthropists towards the activities of the Foundation and similar charity and non-governmental organizations for the benefit of society at large. 

Sansohene, Nana Bawua Afiamoah impressed upon traditional leaders to impact positively on the lives of their subjects. 

It is in this respect that he has resolved to support the Otumfuo Charity Foundation to ensure that the Sanso community and its environs benefit from its services.

 Nana Afiamoah commended the Asantehene and his wife, Lady Julia for their generosity towards the vulnerable including women and children.

 The Sansohene used the occasion to donate 10 sets of desktop computers and printers as well as furniture to enhance ICT education in the Sanso community.
