CAR SNATCHERS ARRESTED

Two men aged 32 and 22 are in the grips of the Ankaase Police in the Kwabre district of Ashanti for violently snatching a taxi cab from its driver.

The suspects, Kwadwo Nkrumah and Akwasi Addai, were arrested by concerned residents of Adanwomase after laying ambush for the arrest.

Narrating the incident to Ashanti Today father of the driver of the taxi cab, Isaac Adu, said the two suspects, at about 10 pm  on Friday 22nd of this month, hired an Opel taxi cab with registration AW 5771-14 driven by one Allen Adu Gyimah, from Agona with Aduman as the final destination.

However, on reaching a spot between Mpobi and Wawase in the Afigya Kwabere district, they pushed the driver out of the taxi after physically assaulting him.

They then sped off with the vehicle.

According to Mr. Adu, the driver later reported the incident to the Ankaase Police who issued him with an Extract for radio announcement while he sought medical attention at a nearby health Centre.

Mr. Adu noted that it was through radio announcements that concerned persons who saw the vehicle around Adanwomase laid ambush yesterday.

In the early hours of today  while Akwasi Addai was about to move the taxi, they arrested him after which he led them to the hide of Kwadwo Nkrumah who was also arrested and handed over to the Police for the law to take its cause.

They allegedly confirmed snatching the taxi from its driver.
