CROPS RESEARCH INSTITUTE GETS FIRST FEMALE DIRECTOR


      The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, CSIR has appointed Dr. Stella Ennin as the new Director of the Crops Research Institute at Fumesua near Kumasi.
Dr. Stella Ennin, a Chief Research Scientist and an agronomist, replaces Reverend Dr. Hans Adu Dapaah who has retired after decades of working at the CRI of the CSIR.
Until her appointment, Dr. Stella Ennin was a staff at the CRI, rose through the ranks and once acted as the Deputy Director of the Institute.
The Director General of the CSIR, Dr. Abdulai Baba Salifu disclosed this at a meeting with Senior Research Staff Association in Kumasi. The Director General said Dr. Stella Ennin was chosen among other qualified applicants after being successful in an interview conducted by the CSIR. Dr. Salifu said almost all other vacant senior staff positions have been advertised and would be filled soon.
