The lifeless body of Master Agyapong

A 21 year old first year student of the Kumasi Polytechnic, Thomas Agyapong, has been shot dead. 

The assailants are yet to be tracked by the security agencies as they are said to have fled the scene immediately after the shooting incident in the room of the deceased.

 The a source told Ashanti Today that Agyapong lives in a compound house at Ayigya, a suburb of Kumasi.

 At about 3 am last Wednesday while in his rented room, some unknown persons reportedly attempted to enter the room which Agyepong tried to stop them from doing so.

 In the process, a struggle ensued, during which he was allegedly shot in the throat leading to his instant death.

 He was pronounced clinically dead on arrival at the KNUST Hospital.

 The body has since been deposited at the Emena Hospital mortuary near Kumasi pending Police investigation.

THE STATE OF KUMASI'S 'INDUSTRIAL AREA

The once Industrial enclave of the Ashanti region within the Kumasi metropolis is fast losing its status as the nerve centre of jobs for the people.     This is due to the collapse of most of the companies in quick succession in  the last few years for various reasons. New Campus of the Kwamang Presby SHS The Kwamang Presby Senior High/Technical School in the Sekyere Central district of Ashanti needs an urgent external intervention to address some of its pressing basic needs to function very well.  A visit by Ashanti Today to the school’s premises revealed that the school does not have an administrative block to administer affairs of the school for which reason the Headmistress, the Bursar and another staff are sharing one room which has been partitioned, while the Assistant Headmaster, the rest of the Accounts staff among other administrative officers are also working from an improvised classroom.
