GOV'T. ALREADY DELIVERING PROMISES-OSEI MENSAH

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, has projected that with the satisfactory performance of the government in less than five months, the future of Ghana can only be brighter.

According to him, since taking office, the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government has created opportunities and inspired existing businesses to grow and provide more and well-paying jobs.

Addressing a crowd of workers in Kumasi, the Regional Minister noted that the micro-economic environment has stabilized, the Ghana Cedi strengthened against the major foreign currencies, inflation started dropping while the prime rate of the Central Bank is also on a decline.

Mr. Osei Mensah noted also that businesses can now operate continuously due to the stabilization of power supply.

He said as taxes considered nuisance have been abolished with others reduced by government, businesses will begin to expand and create more decent employment opportunities which would even increase when government’s policies such as the One District, One Factory, Planting for Food and Jobs, One Constituency-One Million Dollars as well as the One Village-One Dam fully take off.

Mr. Osei Mensah said however that the success of the immediate and long term policies of government would depend largely on the cooperation of workers.

He therefore asked employees to eschew such negative tendencies as corruption while adopting desirable attitudes like hard work, patriotism, timeliness to duty and a renewed sense of commitment to work ethics for the nation to progress.

On its part, the Regional Minister assured that, government will commit to improving and protecting the welfare of workers for enhanced productivity.
