GEORGE KYEI BAFFUOR ON TENTERHOOKS!
Information
reaching Ashanti Today has it that the Asante Akyem Central Municipal
Assembly was compelled to call-off a meeting convened yesterday, Thu. May 4, due to what was
observed to be unfavourable grounds.
The meeting was primarily to enable the
Assembly Members vote on the President’s nominee for the Municipal Chief
Executive position, George Kyei Baffuor.
A source very close to the Municipal
Assembly told Ashanti Today that the Assembly Members have decided
to vote against the nomination of Mr. Kyei Baffuor whom they allege performed
abysmally when he served two terms as the Presiding Member of the Assembly a
few years ago.
It noted that the Assembly Members are accusing also the nominee
for engaging in certain acts they consider to be inimical to operations of the
Assembly after serving his term of office.
The source observed that from the
posture and demeanour of the Assembly Members, the appointing authorities and
interest parties need to do more behind the scenes work before Mr. Kyei Baffour
could be approved by the Assembly
