'MUGABI'S CONTRACT KILLING GANG BUSTED

The Police in the Ashanti region have
arrested a group of persons suspected to be members of a notorious gang who have not just been terrorizing innocent
residents, but also undertake contract killings.
The suspected gang,
headed by a 30-year old man, Kwabena Yeboah also known as Mugabe, is linked to
the assassination of the Assembly Man for Akonfre, Samuel Frimpong about in
March last year.
This gang is reported
to be connected with many heinous crimes against the residents in the Ashanti
region.
One major crime said to have been committed by the Mugabe-led gang is
the assassination of Mr. Frimpong at the entrance to his house while he was
returning from work.
Sammy Tugah, in a video recording shown to journalists by
the Police, confessed that a brother of the deceased Assembly Man, Cosmos
Akwasi Frimpong, contracted the gang to kill the Assembly Man.
This was to
allegedly enable him, Cosmos, to succeed the brother as he was the next of kin.
The contract was eventually carried out on 24th March, 2014.
Three
of the gang members, Mugabe, Sammy Tugah and Moses Aladago have now been
arrested while their weapons have been seized.
In another development, the
Police have arrested another suspected
gang of armed robbers that include the same Sammy Tugah, Christopher Akwasi Appiah and Francis Yeboah
has been arrested for their suspected
violent crimes.
This gang has allegedly succeeded in robbing a small scale mining firm, Benviko at Afepaye near
Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua district
of gold concentrate valued at 150 thousand Ghana Cedis.
