MEAT TOO TRIVIAL TO CAUSE CONFLICT-AHMADYYA MISSIONARY



Hundreds of Ahmadis converged at the T. I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School Park in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi,  their Eid-ul Fitr congregational prayers this morning. 

The congregation, led by the Ashanti Regional Missionary, Maulvi Abdul Hameed Abdulah, to intercede for national peace, divine protection and guidance for the government, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu and healing for sick members of the mission. 

In attendance were members of the Ashanti Regional Security Council led by the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Kojo Bonsu and the Regional Coordinating Director, Lawyer Kofi Dwomoh Asubonteng. 


In a sermon, Maulvi Abdulla condemned recent communal conflict in Bimbila in the Northern region which he noted involves some members of the Islamic faith.

 He was particularly upset about the alleged trivial cause of the conflict which involves meat. 

The Ahmadiyya Regional Missionary emphasized the fact that Islam is all about peace that its adherents must be seen to be lovers of peace. 

For this reason, the leaders of the religion must influence the youth not to aid violent politicians to use cause social insecurity.   

Maulvi Abdulla told the congregation that the challenges that Ghana is going through now are not peculiar saying that it is a global phenomenon which requires Allah’s guidance and direction for the government to deal with.    

He thanked the Asantehene for donating 40 bags of rice and 10 gallons of cooking oil and the KMA presented five bags of rice and four gallons of cooking oil to the Ahmadiyya Mission in Kumasi for the Eid-ul Fitr. 

In a message, the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Kojo Bonsu blamed the June 3 flood and fire disasters that claimed many human lives to misjudgment and human error. 

According to him, government, particularly President John Mahama, has resolved to avert the recurrence of the calamity. 

For this reason, Mr. Bonsu entreated Ghanaians, especially the muslim and Zongo communities to bear with the government to clear all squatters, slums and illegal structures from water ways. 

He urged members of the Islamic faith to use the lessons from the month-long fasting which includes endurance, spiritual fortification and submission continue to reflect in their attitudes and behavior.
