38 YR OLD CHAIRS ASHANTI CPP

A 38-year old professional teacher, Emmanuel Gallo, has been elected the new Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Convention People’s Party, CPP.

Mr. Gallo polled 281 of out of the 327 total votes cast to beat his two contenders, R. O. Frimpong who managed only 29 of the votes while A.S. Osei Yaw  had just 17.

The incumbent Regional Secretary and Lecturer at the College of Technology or the University of Education, Winneba, Daniel Essien lost to one Issah Abdul Salam.

While Sallam had 247 of the votes, Essien could only poll 78. In the race for the Regional Organer slot, Madam Dorothy Gifty Antwi defeated her only contender, David Anning, with 250 votes to 77 with Samuel Frimpong being elected to become the new Regional Education Secretary of the party.

Suleimana Mohammed was also elected as the new Regional Treasurer after he beat his challenger, Rita Nti Agyei who had just 79 of the votes.

The Regional Youth Organizer position was given to Leonard Arzuah after he shrugged off the challenge from his Osei Kofi Aquah.

Three other candidates including Josephine Enning Kwakye, First Regional Vice Chairperson and Millicent Osei, Women Organizer were declared unopposed.

The new Regional Executives were sworn into office by the National Chairperson of the CPP, Samia Yaba Nkrumah to assume duty right away.

Speaking to Ashanti Today, the new Regional Chairman, Emmanuel Gallo, attributed his victory to hardwork, dedication to the cause of the party in the region, as well as his respect for all and sundry.

Mr. Gallo said the vision of the new Regional Executives is to avoid recording zero votes at any polling Centre in the region during next year’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

They also aim to win,  at least, one Parliamentary seat in the Ashanti region for the CPP.

These targets, he emphasized, can only become realistic if the rank and file of the party would rededicate themselves and work harder for the party.

It is for this reason that Mr. Gallo pledged his resolve to unite all the members including the losing candidates to work towards the common good of the party in the region.
