POLICE LOOK FOR OWNER OF LOST MONEY

The Tafo Pankrono Police District Police in Kumasi says it has taken custody of an amount of money said to have fallen from a moving motorbike about two weeks ago.

A statement signed by ASP Yusif Mohammed Tanko of the Regional Police Command explained that the money was found and deposited with the Pankrono Police by a good Samaritan.

The statement therefore urges the owner of the money to go to the Pankrono Police district for identification and collection.

In another development, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has established an anti-Land Guard Unit to check the incidence of land guard activities that is gaining root in the Kumasi metropolis.

A statement signed and issued to the media by the head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Command, ASP Yusif Mohammed Tanko noted that it has come to the attention of the Regional Police Command that in recent days, land owners within the metropolis have reported that land guards have been subjecting them to harassment and criminal acts.

It warned that the Police Command will not look on for such criminal activities to occur.

The statement therefore encouraged all persons who have problems with land guards to report such matters at the Regional Police headquarters in Kumasi for prompt action.

It warned people who have held themselves out as land guards to desist from such criminal activities, else they will be arrested and arraigned before court.
