The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Kofi Sarfo Kantanka has warned invigilators and supervisors of the ongoing WASSCE to be fair and firm to ensure successful conduct of the examination.

He said the GES took all the officials through orientation to sharpen their skills and capability to apply the rules governing the examination and would not expect anything less from them.

Mr. Sarfo Kantanka was speaking in an interview with GBCs Garden City Radio in Kumasi as the examination enters the third day today.

He said the fair conduct of the examination is crucial because it will have a positive or negative effect on the type of leaders the nation will produce in future.

Mr. Sarfo Kantanka said any official caught helping the students to cheat in the examination shall face the full rigours of the law.

He also asked the invigilators and supervisors not to intimidate the students but rather create a friendly and conducive environment for the examination.

Meanwhile, reports from the Atwima Mponua District say the district has not recorded any absenteeism since the start of the WASSCE.

The two secondary institutions in the district, Mpasatia and Nyinahin Senior High Schools have had all the registered candidates present for the examination.

The District Director of Education, Samuel Asua Yeboah has commended the officials of the examination for the satisfactory conduct of the examination so far.

He said any adverse report on the conduct of the examination will negatively affect the image of the district education directorate.

They should therefore work hard to avoid this situation.
