NEW POLITICAL PARTY EMERGES

NEW PARTY OUT
Ashantitoday has picked an impeccable
information of the springing up of a new political party.
The party known as
Power Unity Party, PUP, has already made its presence known on the ground
though no official announcement or declaration has been made to that effect.
Following weeks of close monitoring has has revealed that the party, which
leadership or membership remains secrete, has opened its Ashanti Regional Office at
Ahinsan, a suburb of Kumasi, in a rented single room in the outward of a house
opposite the Palace close to the Community Centre.
It is painted in deep Yellow
and Black believed to be the official colours of the Power Unity Party with the
inscription, POWER UNITY PARTY; ASHANTE
REGION OFFICE.
It appears the National Head office of the PUP is located elsewhere
from the Ashanti region.
Try as Ashantitoday had to speak to the brains behind
the formation of this party, it is becoming clear that the founders are for
now, adopting the hide-and seek approach.
In an interview, the Landlord, Anane Dapaah, noted that early January this year, his son led two men to approach him to rent one of his rooms outside the house as an office to run a
government-sponsored agricultural programme.
According to Mr. Anane Dapaah, he
welcomed the people since they had very good intention for the benefit of many
people including the vulnerable and therefore readily rented the room to them
for two years at a rate of one thousand, 900 Ghana Cedis.
He noted that,
immediately, the men came to paint the room in the yellow and black colours
with the name of a political party.
Since then, all efforts to get them to
explain their deceitful action has proved unsuccessful while his son who led
them to secure the office has not been able to help.
He said however, that his son has also not cooperated to locate the whereabout of those 'tenants'.
We are closely monitoring the situation and would update our readers accordingly.
