NATIONAL HOUSE OF CHIEFS CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT-ELECT




The National House of Chiefs has assured the President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of his readiness to partner his administration to bring about the necessary development and improved living standard Ghanaians are yearning for. 

A congratulated message signed by the President of the House and Agbogbomefia of Ho Asogli, Togbe Afede, said the National House of Chiefs believes that Nana Akufo-Addo has what it takes to confront the challenges the country is facing, hence the confidence Ghanaians have reposed in him. 

It said Ghanaians want change and they expect the President-elect to develop policies and programmes that would meet their expectations and aspirations.

 The message said the National House of Chiefs expects Nana Akufo-Addo to assemble men and women capable of assisting him to achieve his vision, as stated in the New Patriotic Party manifesto.

 It noted that the work would demand that Nana Akufo-Addo gets the support of every Ghanaians to succeed and hoped that he is going to tap the experience and expertise of all Ghanaians and create opportunities for all to participate.

 The House also commended President John Dramani Mahama for graciously conceding defeat to the President-elect and for congratulating him, with the promise to collaborate with him to ensure a smooth transition.

 The message said this act b President Mahama demonstrates his belief in democracy and the right of the people to decide who reigns over them. 

The House says it is also gladdened by the peaceful manner in which the December 7 elections were held and commended the Electoral Commission and its Chairperson, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, for successfully organizing the general elections which have been proclaimed free, fair and transparent and which results have been accepted by all. 

According to the National House of Chiefs, Ghana has once again proven to the international community its desire to use the ballot box to choose its leaders.
