KSI SUPPORTERS TOO GOING TO ACCRA FOR THE INAUGURATION

There is no doubt that the Ashanti region played a pivotal role in the victory of the NPP and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

The difference between the popular votes of President John Mahama of the NDC and Nana Akufo-Addo in the Presidential polls was even wider than it was four years ago a situation considered to have led to the eventual victory of the party.

It is for this reason that the residents and functionaries of the party in the region are sharing in the victory of Nana Akufo-Addo especially as he is to be inducted as the 5th President of the 4th Republic of Ghana tomorrow at the Black Stars Square in Accra.

A visit to the Regional office of the NPP at Krofrom in Kumasi showed that almost all the Regional Executives have already traveled to Accra to witness the event.

Only the Regional Welfare Officer, Nana Kwaku Duah together with some staff at the office are left behind to manage the secretariat as well as organize some party faithful from Kumasi to Accra for the inaugural ceremony.

At the time our Correspondents arrive at the secretariat, some cars and party supporters were ready to travel tonight.

They were in high spirit and ready to cheer Nana Akufo-Addo as he assumes leadership of Ghana as the new President.

Meanwhile, a visit to Adum, ‘Dr. Mensah’ and Central Market showed that the sale and patronage of NPP memorabilia as well as effigies of Nana Akufo-Addo are booming again after a relapse when the euphoria that came with the declaration of results of the election.

People who said they cannot travel to Accra to witness the event however expressed support and goodwill for the new President.
