MORE FOREIGN DIGNITARIES TOO COMING, DRESS CODE IS ALL BLAKC




A number of foreign and national dignitaries will be arriving for the pre-burial programme of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Serwaa Kobi Ampem, in Kumasi from Monday, the 16th to Thursday, the 19th of this month. 

The late Asantehemaa died on the 14th of November 2016 at age 111 after reigning for 39 years. She succeeded the late Nana Serwaa Nyarko. 

At a News Conference in Kumasi, the Chief Linguist of the Asantehene, Nana Nsuase Poku, said Wednesday, the 18th has been dedicate to the foreign dignitaries to view the body and pay their last respect to the biological mother of the reigning Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, who is the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool.

 Nana Nsuae Poku said high profile personalities will be arriving from South Africa, Swaziland, Uganda, La Cote d’Ivoire as well as High Commissioners to Ghana, Ghana’s President, former Presidents, MPs among others will as well pay homage to Otumfuo Osei Tutu who will sit in state from Monday, the 16th after also paying his last respect to the late mother at 11 am. 

The prescribed dress code for the entire event is outright black. 

 Nana Nsuase Poku said a very tight security arrangement has been made for the four-day programme adding that it will be devoid of politics. 

He therefore warned residents and sympathizers to avoid causing any inconvenience at the Palace. 

Touching on other matters incidental to the pre-burial programme, Nana Nsuase Poku said parking plan has been made for the visitors with tight security to protect both life and property. 

Also, arrangement has been made for the Palace and residents to partner some waste management companies such as Zoomlion to clean the city. 

Meanwhile, the ban on drumming and noise making is still in force until further notice.
