KMA EJECTS TRADERS FROM KEJETIA TERMINAL
The scene at the Kejetia Terminal in Kumasi this morning was that of dejection, disappointment and frustration as the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, KMA, has had to forcibly eject traders plying their businesses. At the time of Ashanti Today’s visited the Terminal reports that the traders were taken aback when they reported early in the morning to start their trading only to realize that the entire terminal had been barricaded amidst heavy security presence with no room for any vehicle to enter. The measure is meant to prepare the place for actual work to start on the redevelopment of the Kejetia Terminal being the first phase of the comprehensive Central Market reconstruction project. Eyewitnesses told Ashanti Today that the KMA used barely two hours from about 1 am today, to complete the fence around the terminal.
