NYA TRAINS YOUTH IN DIGITAL MARKETING
The
Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Emmanuel Asigri has
cautioned the youth who get enrolled on the Authority's Digital Marketing
training programme to avoid acts that can affect and jeopardize the
sustainability of the programme.
He gave the caution at the graduating ceremony
of the first batch of 355 trainees from the Ashanti region in the Youth Training
in Digital Marketing programme at Ahinsan in the Asokwa municipality of the
Ashanti region.
The Youth-In-Online Digital Marketing Entrepreneurship
programme is aimed at equipping the youth with skills to make them
self-employed.
Each of the 10 regions have been given an average slot of 300 youths
aged between 18 and 35 years with a basic appreciation of Internet and social
media, to be trained under the programme for a period of three months.
He noted
that government through the National Youth Authority purchased three thousand
laptops to cater for all trainees across the country under the programme. However
some participants took away 25 of the laptops.
Mr. Asigri warned that the
laptops are government property and solely for the training.
As such, anyone
who takes it away without the consent of the Authority or permission of the
instructors can be liable for theft.
The Authority will also take steps in
collaboration with the police to retrieve the stolen laptops.
