Samuel Ofosu Ampofo addressing the youth
The ruling National Democratic Congress, NDC, is set to have its National Executives Meeting next week to deliberate on pertinent issues bothering the party and chart the way forward.

Among the major items on the agenda will be the fixing of a timetable of events of the party from now till the Presidential and Parliamentary elections scheduled for next year.

A National Vice Chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo made this known at the opening of a three-day capacity building workshop for the youth wing of the party in the Ashanti region.

By Mr. Ofosu Ampofo’s disclosure, the NDC’s NEC will fixed the timeline for the conduct of the party’s Parliamentary primaries as well as the date for its National Congress for the election of the Presidential candidate for the 2016 election.

The Vice Chairman assured the party’s faithful that the National Executives are not sleeping on the job and are therefore working very hard towards the party’s victory in the next elections.

For this reason, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo said the leadership will promptly tend to all grievances so as to keep the party united.

Therefore, members must also refrain from any tendencies such as agitations and the washing of the party’s dirty linen public.

Rather, they should use the laid down party structures to seek resolution for their concerns. “Remember, if you push away any member, his or her nephew, uncle, brother or loved one would also be pushed away”, Mr. Ampofo reminded the NDC faithful.

He stressed that “we need everybody on board as we prepare for the 2016 elections”, he continued.

On the issue of party-government relationship, the National Vice Chairman was emphatic that the bond of relationship between the presidency and the party has been strengthened with the appointment of a new Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah. “We need a strong party for a strong government to win elections”, he said adding that a strong government with a weaker party will lose elections.

“This must trickle down to the regions and constituencies”, he advised.

Mr. Ofosu Ampofo commended Regional Youth Organizer and his team for the initiative.

He said in recognition of the contribution of the both the youth and women of the party, the Constitution has been amended to rope in the Regional Youth and Women Organizers into the National Executive Committee of the party to enable them to properly channel their concerns for attention.
