MOTHER AND TWO DAUGHTERS PERISH IN DOMESTIC FIRE

A woman and her two daughters have been burnt to death in the Ashanti region. The incident occurred early today when the house in which they were sleeping caught fire. According to neighbors and eye witnesses, the fire broke out at the family house around 3am today, Wednesday February 1, 2023. The three-bedroom house is located at Nso Nyame Y3, a suburb of Abuakwa in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality in the Ashanti region.

Eye witness account has it that it took neighbors hours to fight the inferno before they were later joined by the Ghana National Fire Service. But, the efforts were not enough to save a 28-year old mother of two, Abigail Manu, and her children from succumbing to the fire. The two deceased daughters are Nora Yeboah, nine years and Philippa Yeboah, six years. Two other occupants of the house at the time of the fire outbreak were however able to escape.

Interacting with journalists, ACFO Giwa sympathized with the bereaved family on the losses. He however repeated his advice to landlords and land ladies to be safety conscious and not over concentrate on prevention of burglars and robbers.
