LET'S COME TOGETHER TO PURSUE PEACE-COP KOFI BOAKYE

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, says this is the best opportune time for the rank and file of the various security services to come together and interact in the pursuit of national peace and security.

According to COP Kofi Boakye, the security services need to foster unity of purpose as the electioneering gets to its peak in the run up to the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Speaking at the first in the series of this year’s Bands Competition of Security Agencies, BACOSA, in Kumasi, the Regional Police Commander said the talks are enough and should be seen to be giving way for real action to ensure that the country remains peaceful and united even after the elections.

COP Kofi Boakye cautioned once again, personnel of the security services to shun partisan politics but remain resolute, firm and fair in providing the needed secured environment for people to go about their legitimate activities during the election period.

On his part, the Ashanti Regional Commander of the Prisons Service, DDP Laud Nii Boye assured that Ghana is at peace which should be jealously protected by all.

He warned that all the security services are poised for action to ward off any peace derailing activity.

DDP Nii Boye cautioned particularly the youth to stay away from tendencies that could lead them to problems saying that the Prisons Service has enough accommodation for anyone who would be arrested for offending the laws.

There were similar peace messages by the Regional Commanders of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Immigration Service all appealing to everyone to help protect the country from violent conflict before, during and after the elections.
