Voting is underway in Constituencies in the Ashanti region where the NDC’s Parliamentary and Presidential elections could not take place yesterday.  A total of 12 of the 47 Constituencies in the region could not hold their elections yesterday for various reasons.  The affected Constituencies are Subin, Manhyia South and North and Bosomtwe.  The others are Atwima Nwabiagya North, Asante Akyem North, Ahafo Ano North and Sekyere Afram Plains. Some of the voters going through the process at the PSUC Voting in eight out of the 47 Constituencies in the Ashanti region in the Presidential and Parliamentary primaries of the ruling NDC has been rescheduled following some challenges that affected the start of the polls today, Saturday November 21.   Voting in the Manhyia North and South, Subin and Atwima Nwabiagya North. The University of Education Winneba is introducing a Bachelor of Science Chemistry Education programme next academic year to help produce more professional Chemistry teachers for the pre-tertiary levels of education.  The University also plans to run a top-up programme in Bachelor of Science Environmental Health and Sanitation Education in the sandwich mode, for graduands of the Diploma in Environmental Health and Sanitation Education and other qualified applicants next academic year.  Both programmes will be offered at the College of Agriculture Education at Asante Mampong.  The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Mawutor Avoke announced this at the 20 th congregation ceremony of the College of Agriculture Education at Asante Mampong.  He said plans are also advanced for the university to run a Master of Science in Agriculture by sandwich and Bachelors degree programmes in Information and Communication Technology, Natural Resources Ma...

A Clinical Pharmacist, Mrs. Alexandria Oppong Mensah has advocated that authorities of basic and second cycle schools in the country provide sanitary pads at vantage points, especially in school washrooms where adolescent girls can easily and conveniently access such health materials during their menses.  Aside from this initiative, schools and parents must also demystify menstruation which is an unavoidable biological stage that every normal female must go through in life.  Mrs. Mensah, who is also a Counselor, made the suggestion at the launch of a book titled ‘Abrefi’s Red Letter Day’ in Kumasi.  The 17-page book was published by Adwinsa publications with contributions by four female students of the Publishing Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.  They are Leticia Amankwah, Victoria Adobea Mensah, Florence Newman and Patience Obeng-Manu.
