BODY OF MURDERED TAXI DRIVER FOUND

The body of a man has been found at the outskirts of Ninting near Asante Mampong. The Body, believed to be that of a taxi driver who was declared missing in the Mampong Municipality about two weeks ago, was in a state of decomposition. 

The lifeless body was found early Tuesday Morning, Jan. 15, 2019, by some Agric Extension Officers who were attending to the farm of a cocoa farmer. They were attracted to the scene by the stench from the decomposition body.

 Eye witnesses told the Ashanti Today that the driver, whose name was given only as Kwadwo also known as Level by his peers, was last seen with his taxi cab on the 25th of last December and had since not been traced by his relatives. Level, said to be in his mid 30s, was a resident of Mampong New Damaang.


 Eyewitnesses complained to Ashanti Today that even though the police at Mampong, which is about 10 minutes drive away, they were yet to attend to the scene as at 12:30 pm.

The once Industrial enclave of the Ashanti region within the Kumasi metropolis is fast losing its status as the nerve centre of jobs for the people.     This is due to the collapse of most of the companies in quick succession in  the last few years for various reasons. New Campus of the Kwamang Presby SHS The Kwamang Presby Senior High/Technical School in the Sekyere Central district of Ashanti needs an urgent external intervention to address some of its pressing basic needs to function very well.  A visit by Ashanti Today to the school’s premises revealed that the school does not have an administrative block to administer affairs of the school for which reason the Headmistress, the Bursar and another staff are sharing one room which has been partitioned, while the Assistant Headmaster, the rest of the Accounts staff among other administrative officers are also working from an improvised classroom.
